Normandy Trip October 2006
In October 2006 a group of Staff, Cadets, Parents & Supporters took a trip to Normandy, France. Places such as Pegasus Bridge, The Famous Beaches and Disneyland Paris were visited as well as many more.

Cadets visit the World Famous Pegasus Bridge and its museum.
|
The trip wouldn't have been complete without stopping for a drink and Madame Gondree's Pegasus Bridge Cafe.

Ostende Trip October 2005
In October 2005 a group of Staff, Cadets, Parents & Supporters took a trip to Ostende, Belgium to tour the Flanders Fields, the War Graves and Memorials of the First World War.

The Cross of Sacrifice
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly

The Last Post Ceremony takes place at the Menin Gate daily at 20:00. Upto 6 buglers from the local volunteer Fire Service sound the Last Post followed by a short silence then Reveille, under the memorial arch.

The Cadets visit Hill 62 (Sanctuary Wood), preserved Original British Trenches that were found after the War

Craters scatter the area which were formed by scattered shelling

The Trenches that were used by the British Servicemen, also leading to tunnels which enabled the troops to move positions without being spotted

You can't take cadets on a trip without taking them to a Theme Park!!
Bellewaerde Park is situated just outside of Ypres and was ideal for both our Juniors and more Senior cadets.

Here we laid a Wreath on behalf of Walsall Sea Cadets for the Great Grandfather of 2 of our Cadets who travelled with us

Rememberance Sunday Parades
Each year we are asked to provide a Guard of Honour and a Duty Bugler at Walsall's Rememberance Sunday Parade.
We alternate the Guard each year between the Sailors and the Marines.
|
The Marines pay a tribute by providing the Armed Guard for Walsall's very own Victoria Cross Winner, Able Seaman John Carless, who was killed at the naval battle of Heligoland Bight on November 17th 1917.

The Marines display their Carless routine around the Memorial Statue.
