Sea Cadets
Here in Truro Sea Cadet Unit, as in all units, the instruction of all cadets is based upon the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy. Our aim is to help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct using a nautical theme based on Naval customs.

Marine Cadet Detachment
There are around 90 Sea Cadet units in the UK that have a Marine Cadet Detachment. We are able to have these detachments because the Royal Marines are a part of the Royal Navy and several ships have detachments on board.
The detachments are trained in the skills of the Royal Marines, apart from the level of fitness required, although a reasonable level is required due to the nature of the training. The Marine Cadets are expected to take part in virtually all of the waterborne training that the Sea Cadets participate.
TS Pellew is one of the units that is now able to recruit female marine cadets, however numbers are restricted, if you are interested contact the unit to see if there is a waiting list.
