Welcome to Scunthorpe Sea Cadets

The Sea cadets is a Nationwide Organisation, The Oldest Youth Organisation In The World!
But that does not mean we are stuck in the past! Far From It!
Our cadets have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of seamanship, from tying knots - to handling boats (pulling, power and sail.)
There are opportunities to go offshore sailing as well as a whole host of other activites, some you would expect ( Parade Training ) and some you wouldn't expect (Shooting or Expedition Training.) There are also opportunities each year for cadets to go on foreign exchanges with other cadet forces around the world, although as you would expect... competition for these places are fierce.
As well as training activities within the Unit, we also hold weekends at camps and weeks onboard ships.
There is also the opportunity to attend District, Area and National courses, which we obviously encourage our cadets to attend as much as possible and the range of courses available to our cadets is very impressive indeed.
There are no special skills you need to join us, we will give you those.
So if you are between 10 and 18 and having an enquiring attitude that is all that is needed. We will give you the rest.
We also welcome enquiries from adults to join our ranks, after all... We need Good Volunteers to Teach our cadets..
Again you don't need any special skills to be an Instructor, just enthusiam.
We would especially welcome enquiries from former members of the armed forces and thier reserves, especially those of the Royal Navy.
Visit the Unit on a Parade night for more information!
Parade Nights
Tuesday and Thursday (1830-2100)
There is no commitment... Come and see if you enjoy and you may stay for years!!
