District Canoe Regatta 2010
Central District Canoe Regatta will be held on June 13th at Chichester Canal. Cadets wishing to enter must be fully enrolled and between the ages of 12 to 18 years. They cannot take part if under 12 years at time of Area Regatta (11 July 2010) or over 18 years at time of the National Regatta (3 -5 September). Entry forms to be submitted by 4th June 2010. At Ryde Unit we are very keen to develop our boating and in particular Paddlesport. So far we have raised funds for 'Operation Paddle'
The picture below shows our Trailor together with the kayaks that we have managed to buy with the kind support of the Youth Opportunity Fund and Littlewoods Fund for Sports and Art.
Our ambition is to raise further funds towards an Open Canoe and associated kit.

One of our Cadets was fortunate to be offered a place on this trip. Whilst on this trip Dan took part in several disciplines such as mountain biking, mountaineering, abseiling and kayaking.
