Welcome to TS Jervis Bay
Welcome to TS Jervis Bay, Reading's premier youth organisation. We are based at Brock Barracks (the TA centre) along the Oxford Road, west of Reading town centre.
Reading is a large and exciting unit with 50 cadets, including Marine and Junior sections.
The Unit is part of a Nationwide Youth Organisation open to anyone aged between 12 - 18, with a Junior Section for those aged 10 - 12.

ADULT TRAINING
September 26-28th was MAST weekend. Seven members of staff attended to do a varied range of training which included First Aid, Drill, metrology, seamanship,training officer,and one member of staff went to Farnham to do weapons handling course. I am pleased to say that all members passed their courses. The staff enjoyed their weekend. As a result we have more lessons that can be taught within the unit.

Franham weekend
Once again last weekend 10th October Reading and Farnham held a joint cadet training weekend, we have twelve cadets from Reading attend. The cadets were taught First aid 3rd & 2nd Class which was taught by S/Lt Greenaway from Farnham 2nd class First Aid, CPO Greenaway from Reading taught 3rd class First Aid. Cooksteward 3rd & second class was taught by POC Mugridge over seen by the CO of Farnham unit Lt Milligan who also did Weapons Handling for cadets in the evening. This time a new course was added it was gerneral training for new entries.Two instructors from Reading PPO Coles and Miss Dalton and CI Framton from Farnham taught this lesson. All the cadets passed their courses. O/C Abery & Cdt Constance passed 3rd class First Aid. L/C Gearing, A/C Wiliams C. A/C Williams R pased 2nd class First Aid. A/C'S Allison,Constance O/C Hutchins passed 2d class Cook steward and Cdt Benham passed 3rd Class Cook Steward. New Entries Tocock, Lepetit and Warmsley all passed General training and are now Cadet Rank. The weekend was a lot of fun for all those involved. we had visits from District Officers from both areas who popped in to see how much fun we were having.

Sea Sunday
Five of Reading Sea Cadets attended the Sea Sunday in Portsmouth on Sunday 19th October 2008. L/C Gearing and A/C's Williams C, Williams R, Allison and Constance S were choosen to be in the Armed Guard using the new SA 80's. They came home full of praise for the weekend. They worked very very hard over the whole weekend. The training started Friday evening and finished On the sunday morning. They were a credit to the unit and the Sea Cadet Corp.
