Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?
On Joining, you get the 1st week free and after that all of our cadets pay £1.00 a week.

The only other initial cost is to cover the loan of uniform. Parents only pay £20 for this and in return our cadets are supplied with a working uniform which is worn on most cadet nights and a best (No 1) uniform which is worn for ceremonial occasions and once a month.

New cadets will need to buy their own boots as we are unable to supply these.

What if my son/daughter grows out of their uniform?
Cadets just need to fill in a request form and we will exchange the item one for one.

What is the minimum commitment?
There is no minimum commitment for cadet evenings but cadets will gain the most by attending both nights and getting involved in other unit commitments and courses but it is also recognised that young people often have a number of interests.

The unit only has two parades that all cdts are expected to attend:

Rememberance Day Parade & Unit Royal Navy Inspection (Bi Annual)
