Unit Management Committee
PORTSMOUTH SEA CADETS UNIT MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE NEEDS YOU
The Unit Management Committee (UMC) is a small but dedicated band of volunteers under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Commander Geoff Palmer RN who provides the Commanding Officer with advice and assistance in order for the unit to be a safe and secure venue to both cadets and staff alike. The committee also looks after the financial aspect of the unit as well as health and safety matter and the longer tern requirements in order to achieve one of the Corps objects ‘to help the youth of today develop towards responsibly adulthood’ Members of the UMC fill the following roles Chairman and Vice Chairman Treasurer Secretary Along side the UMC is the Parents and Supports Association (P&SA) which is the fund raising arm of the Committee and provided canteen faculties to the unit on parade nights and when major Sea Cadet events are being held on Whale Island.
The UMC meet monthly normally at 1930 on the third Thursday of the month in the Unit HQ on Whale Island and you would be made most welcome.

New Unit Colour
This year has seen the senior cadets of TS Alamein leading a fundraising campaign for the purchase of a new unit Colour.
The Cadets raised just over £500 & the new colour just needs to be dedicated - DATE TBC SOON

YCF MONEY
In 2009 we were successful in obtaining an award of £4000 from the Youth Capital Fund for the purchase of new Duke of Edinburgh Award Expedition equipment.
