Rec Space Renovation & New Galley
With the success of our recent O2 community grant, work on the rec space has begun. As work started to progress we made the decision to relocate the galley, therefore giving us a larger more usable galley for future cook steward training etc. It is hoped the rec space will be re-opened by the end of February 2011...? :), with the galley being completed shortly after.
We would like to thank The Water Mill restuarant near St Ives for their donation of chairs which will help give the rec space a modern stlye.

Boating Weekend 26-28 June
The weekend of the Mazey parade saw 15 cadets attend the boating weekend. Saturdays training begun with a few hiccups (rope-prop...you do the math), but once underway was succesful. Sundays training looked to be going out of the window with the forecast of force 5/6 occasionally 7 we had two choices, either cancel the training or move the training to Newlyn..we decided on the newlyn option, selected cadets prepared the three boat tow and a bumpy ride was endured to reach newlyn harbour. Once at Newlyn the remianing cadets were then transported by minibus to Newlyn for the training to continue. The training commenced until early evening. The long tiring weekend rewarded all cadets with their hard earned qualifications, ranging from competant crew to pulling coxswain. Well done to all that took part.
