GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS
On 4 Jun 08 the Unit were informed that, following their recent Inspections, they had been awarded a BURGEE Efficiency Award. This award is only given to those Units that meet the exacting standards of the MOD and our National Charity .
Earlier in 2008 Kendal Sea Cadets were also awarded the McBeath Trophy. This is another national award and puts the Unit up there with the biggest and best units in the country.
These are great achievements that all Cadets, Staff and Supporters can be proud of.

ADVANCE NOTICES - SEPTEMBER
Saturday 13th September
Bag pack at Booths supermarket followed by the Kendal Torchlight Procession. I will want all cadets to take part in both events. Again this year we will be entering a float and the band in the procession.
Sunday 14th September
District Swimming Competition at Workington.
I WILL BE PICKING THE TEAMS VERY SHORTLY - IF YOUR CADET IS NOT AVAILABLE PLEASE INFORM ME ASAP.
Friday 26th to Sunday 28th September
I am planning on entering a team in the Northwest Area Expedition competition. 5 cadets will be needed.

Kit lists for both Palatine and Ganges
T1 form signed and returned. (No form, no trip)
Please make sure your son/daughter brings the remainder of their trip money. Should you not be able to remember how much you have already paid then please see Mrs Sumpter.
Spending Money suggested maximum is £5. Cadets will be able to buy Nutty only.
It is important that you send your cadets with extra money for Sailing/Power log books and certificates. Please check with us if you cannot remember if your son/ daughter has or has not got a log book. These items will cost less than £10 together. Certificates for log books are approx £3 and it is suggested that you send this amount of money to cover this cost
IMPORTANT NOTE: SHOULD YOUR SON/DAUGHTER WISH TO DO POWER AT THE WEEKEND THEN THERE WILL BE A SURCHARGE FOR PETROL/DIESEL LEVIED BY THE TRAINING ESTABLISHMENT. KENDAL SCC WILL COVER THIS COST UNTIL WE RETURN, HOWEVER THOSE WISHING TO DO POWERBOAT MUST REPAY THE COST ON RETURN.

Complete set of 4s including shoes or boots (with no woolly pully)
Three full (including underwear) changes of civilian clothing to allow for wet weather.

Sleep attire i.e. shorts and T-shirt or pyjamas
Bin bag for bringing home wet gear.
Please pack kit in a soft case or holdall as space is at a premium in both establishments
