Royal Naval Parade 2006

A loud explosion rocked the ship causing a number of holes in the side of her, water started to fill the compartments, casualties were sustained and if that wasn’t bad enough, the ship then came under chemical attack. But dealing with this situation was not a problem for the cadets of Horsham Sea Cadet unit T.S.GLORY.

The above scenario was just one aspect of their annual Royal Naval Parade that took place at their HQ in Broadbridge health last Thursday evening.

The Royal Naval Parade gave the cadets the chance to demonstrate their skills to the Inspecting Officer Admiral Sir Peter Abbott GBE, KCB, MA, Area and District Staff honoured guests and parents.

Admiral Sir Peter Abbott also made a number of presentations to cadets for achievements over the last year. The winners were
Ordinary Cadet Francis (Cadet of the year), Ordinary Cadet McCarthy (Achievement cup), First Class Junior Cadet Collinson (Best dressed) and Leading Junior Cadet Ditton (Junior Cadet of the year)

A special presentation was also made to the unit’s Officer In Charge Lt(SCC) J. Allam RNR for his outstanding leadership of Horsham unit over the past few years.
