03/11/07 Bonfire and Fireworks Display
On Saturday 3rd November, Hinckley Sea Cadets held their annual bonfire and fireworks display on the lake. This was a great night, well attended by members of the public and supporters of the unit and we were also happy to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Hinckley and Bosworth, Mr and Mrs Keith Lynch to the event. The night was a great success and it appears that we have been successful in raising approximately £1,400 which will go towards the annual running costs of the unit.

25/08/07 Hinckley Sea Cadets hold Flag Day
On Saturday 25th August, Hinckley Sea Cadets held their annual 'Flag Day' in Hinckley town centre. This is our chance to carry out fundraising collections and to hold our stall at the top of Castle Street to raise money for the Unit. Despite it being the bank holiday weekend, the town centre was still pretty busy, and the cadets were very successful in raising a total of approximately £750!! This is massive amount of money and will help towards the annual maintenance and running costs of the Unit. There will be a prizes announced shortly for the two cadets that raised the most money on the day. Thanks go to all cadets, staff and committee members that took part on the day.

19/07/07 Hinckley Sea Cadets receive cheque from Mayor
Hinckley Sea Cadets have received a cheque for £6598 from the out going Mayor of Hinckley & Bosworth Mrs Mary Sherwin. At the start of her term in office Mrs Sherwin nominated Hinckley Sea Cadets as one of her charities for the year. Through out her year in office she held many events including bag packing civic carol services a fashion show and a civic ball. At all of these events all the proceeds went to her nominated charities. Cadets from T.S. Amazon helped at many of these events the most successful being the Bag packing which raised over £2000. The commanding officer LT Neil Hartwell RNR said "It was great fun working with Mrs Sherwin she was always cheerful and showed a great interest in all the activities the Cadets were involved in. The money that she raised will be spent on fitting out our new galley (kitchen) and purchasing 6 new canoes for the unit. All members of Hinckley Sea Cadets would like to thank Mrs Sherwin and her consort Mrs Jennifer Bell for all their hard work over the last 12 months the amount raised was outstanding."
