Cadet Multi Training

10 cadets and 3 staff spent a freezing weekend in Crowborough this weekend, but we all had a great time. Special mention to OC Sam Chan, who slept in a tent overnight. Even his water bottle froze, but he woke up in good spirits. Well done.

Lord Mayor's Parade.

A long rainy day was spent in London at the Lord Mayor's Parade this year. All cadets and staff got thoroughly soaked through. However, they all remained in good spirits and were exhausted by the end of the day. It was a great experience for all, something to boast about in conversation. The BBC, however just panned out to an interview when we were due to pass the camera! Photo shows St. Paul's as we passed by en route.

Multi training

Weekend of Fri to Sun 18th-20th September. 8 cadets had a great time at Crowborough in Sussex. They took part in Leadership skills, First Aid, Campcraft and Armed and Un-Armed drill, with all being successful. It was a particularly good weekend and the weather was fantastic with both staff and cadets having great fun.

Bristol.

We have recently spent a weekend at HMS Bristol sailing. Cadets sleep aboad the ship and come onto dry land only for meals. Several cadets gained YSS Sailing qualifications during the weekend and I hear that sleep was at a minimum. As the photo shows, the weather was glorious and te sailing was fantastic.

District and Area Regattas

Harlow have been very successful in the last month, both at District and Area regattas. We returned with 5 trophies and numerous individual medals from the District event, and Essex won both the boys and girls overall trophies. We had success as well, once again bringing home individual medals.

The National Sailing Regatta gives the best sailing cadets across the country to compete against each other in different classes of boats. Smaller, local, sailing competitions lead up to this big regatta.
