Fundraising
The unit is self-funded. The Royal Navy provide uniforms and our boat but all other running costs such as rent and insurance have to be covered by fundraising.
|
|
Sponsors
Cadets pay a small amount at each parade, but in order to keep the amount as small as possible, we approach corporate and individual sponsors as well as the local council for support. Currently we are supported by:
Worshipful Company of World Traders Hounslow Council - Chiswick Area Committee Chiswick Pier Trust
In previous years contributions have also been made by:
Thames Water Capital Group Ironmongers Guild Tesco Rotary club Hounslow Community Youth Fund
We always welcome other sponsors.

Trafalgar Dispatch
To celebrate the bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar, in September 2005 there was an re-enactment of the journey of the original dispatch, by post-chaise from Falmouth to London, announcing the British victory and Nelson's death. Cadets from the unit were in the Sea Cadet Guard at Osterley House, Hammersmith Town Hall and Holland Park, the last three stops before arrival at the final destination of the Old Admiralty Building. During the ceremony at each stop, a copy of the dispatch was presented to the Mayor of each council.
|
In Nov 2007, a copy of the dispatch was presented to the Duke of Edinburgh on the Queen's behalf. Cadets from Chiswick joined cadets from Windsor and Maidenhead units to form a Guard of Honour at Windsor Castle.
