TS Deva Chester Sea Cadets has been established since 1943 - the unit operates as an independent local based organisation with the backing and support of our national organisation - so if you are aged between 10 and 18 and live in the Chester area and want to have fun, make new friends, learn new sports and much more then call us on 01244 315604 or just come along.

WHERE & WHEN DO WE MEET?
WINTER MONTHS We meet on Monday & Thursday evenings (7 – 9.30 p.m.)Juniors meet mondays & Thursday (7 - 9.30 p.m) at our Crane Wharf Unit (Near to the Chester Race Course) and weather permitting we go sailing, camping etc at the weekend.
SUMMER MONTHS Monday Nights 19.00 – 21.30 – in uniform for unit based activities
Thursday Nights March 19.00 – 21.30 April – August 18.30 – 21.30 in saillin clothing.

SEA CADETS (ROYAL NAVY)
The sea cadet section is run from the ages of 12-18. They recieve the training they need to progress up the ranks which is given on a Monday Evening, the ranks range as follows :
NEW ENTRY - 12 CADET - 12+6months ORDINARY CADET - 13 ABLE CADEET - 14 LEADING CADET - 15 PETTY OFFICER CADET - 16
On a Thursday Evening we run the Specialisations, which is the cadets part 2 training. The specialisation range from :
DRILL & CEREMONIAL MECHANAICAL & ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING FIRST AID COOKS STEWARDS SEAMANSHIP PIPING
All in which they progress upwards and gain a range of qualifications.

MARINE CADETS (ROYAL MARINES)
At Chester SCC we have a Marine Cadet Detatchment, run by our Detatchment Commander. To qualify for a Marine Cadet you must be 12+9months old. There part one training is done on a Monday Evening which enables them to progress up the ranks which are as follows :
RECRUIT - 12+9MONTHS MARINE CADET - 13 MARINE CADET 2ND CLASS - 14 MARINE CADET 1ST CLASS LANCE CORPORAL --THESE 2 RANKS ARE THE SAME BUT EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE ENABLES THE MC1 TO WEAR A LANCE CORPORAL STRIPE. CORPORAL - 16 CADET SEREANT - 17
On Thursday Evening our Marine Cadets go out in the field for Combat Training. This enables them to learn what a Royal Marine would do in combat.They would also be kitted out with all webbing so they get the feel of how much they would have to carry. They would also camp out, put there own tents and bivvies up and also cook there own food. All training in the field goes towards their annual Field Assesment.

JUNIOR SEA CADETS
Here at Chester Sea Cadets we also have a Junior Secition. To qualify to be a Junior Cadet you must be between 10-12 years old. The Juniors Parade the same time as the senior Cadets.
Monday 1900hrs - 2130hrs Thursday 1900hrs - 2130 hrs
The training for the juniors is split up into four sections :
RED MODUAL - UNIT BASED BLUE MODUAL - WATERBOURNE ACTIVITIES YELLOW MODUAL - COMMUNITY & CITIZENSHIP GREEN MODUAL - OUTDOOR & RECREATION
Also the have the oportunity to progress up to Leading Junior, and gain qualifications such as Sailing, Canoeing, Powerboating and Pulling. We also offer First Aid.
Also our Junior Cadets have the oportunities of entering competitions such as Deck Hockey, Swimming and Football.

AIMS OF THE SEA CADET CORPS
The aim of the Sea Cadet Corps is to teach young adults between the ages of 10-18 the traditions of the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines. So they have a responsable adulthood based on the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.
