TS Diomede
Welcome to TS Diomede, Barnsley Sea Cadets Website
We are now actively recruiting young people and adult volunteers to join our ranks.
Barnsley Unit has 3 sections, so there something for everyone.
Junior Sea Cadets for boys and girls aged 10-12 years.
Senior Sea Cadets for boys and girls aged 12-18 years.
Marine Cadets for boys aged 13 - 18 years.
All sections parade on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6.45pm-9pm.
Juniors have their own syllabus and as you would expect uniform and cadet discipline are still part of the Junior cadet life, but a big part of being a Junior is Learning through fun activity.
The Sea Cadets use customs, traditions and themes of the Royal Navy. There are activities available to you both locally, at one of the National training centres or at sea on one of the Sea Cadets offshore training vessels. It is not all-serious stuff though, fun is a big part of how we train and it is fair to say that we encourage you to enjoy your time with us.
The Marine Cadet detachment is very much part of the unit and part of the Sea Cadet Corps. Their training is geared toward the Royal Marines.
