Ayr Sea Cadets Land a Whopper
Ayr Sea Cadets were recently awarded a grant for £37,289 from Youth Link Scotland. They were delighted to receive delivery of their new mini-bus as part of this from Kerr & Smith (Cumnock) Ltd. The unit would like to thank the garage for their continued support. Pictured are some of the officers and cadets with Commanding Officer John Dickie and John Dyet of Kerr & Smith.
The grant also helped to set-up their Adventure Training team and supply equipment and kit for upcoming expeditions. IT Equipment to support 2 visual training rooms was also on the list, all of this has made a huge impact to the unit and it’s future.

HMS Vanguard Visit
The Unit was lucky enough to be welcomed aboard HMS Vanguard while berthed at Faslane Naval Base. We were given a guided tour by a previous cadet from the Ayr Unit (Mac) with the permission of his Commanding Officer. The Day was a huge success with the cadets and staff gaining excellent knowledge of the submariner way of life.
