Lord Lieutenants Poppy Appeal
Cadets and Staff attended the Presentation evening of the Lord Lieutenants Poppy appeal which was held at the Charterhouse School near Guildford at which the guest speaker was Admiral Sir Jonathon Band GCB – First Sea Lord 2006-2009. The competition to raise money for the Royal British Legion was started 8 years ago by The Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, Mrs Sarah Goad JP, and it was the first year that all nine units of Surrey District had taken part.
Cadet Bayliss from Woking was awarded a special certificate for coming 3rd in the individual collectors section for the Sea cadets.
Admiral Band spoke at length about the work carried out by the sea cadets and on the forthcoming celebrations related to Cadet 150
