Every other weekend, cadets have the oportunity to stay onboard HMS Bristol and clock up qualifications in Boating. Staff are all RYA trained and a weekend costs under £20! Bargain!

Spinnaker training!

Unit E.T Camp!

A weekend of staying under canvas prooved to be a success at Cricket Camp 21-23rd Sept! Cadets worked towards their basic and proficiency in camp craft with the added bonus of rifle shooting, archery and tunneling underground! Revenge is still to be taken on A/C George who soaked PO Williams during a water fight between himself and Cheif Dyer! I'm sure what she is planning will be remembered!

Tunnelling at Cricket Camp!

teamwork and expedition training skills!

Royal Navy Parade

Thursday 20th Sept was the night of our annual inspection! Weeks of preparation including displays and ceremonial helped up receive an excellent result. A/C George did a brillint job at Parade Commander and Guard Commander A/C Miles alon with fellow guard members put on an excellent display of armed drill. A big pat on the back the the cadets who persuaded both the District Officer and Commanding officer to take part in a hillarious display of blind folded team work! Promotions went to A/C George, O/C Harcout BRown, CdtKimber and 2nd Class Junior George. Photos coming soon!

Our main evlolution was a humourous display of a Day in the Life of a ship! Caddes displayed skills in navigation, seamanship, engineering and cook stewarding and had a good laugh in doing so!

Staff getting roped in to the activities!

District officer Lt Cdr English joining in with the evolution!

Deep water

Boats all loaded and ready to go...just waiting for the tide to rise.

One volunteer for water depth test...well volunteered really!

And the verdict was yes...but very cold!

Just one more test..using staff this time!

Novice band weekend

The bands of Winchester, Kettering, Reading and Romsey.

With our very own drum major leading the band.

Presentation Evening

Our Annual Awards Presentation started off 2007! Our Guest VIP was Lt Nicklin who both inspected ships company aswell as presented the awards! Well done to everyone who worked hard over 2006.

The unit band's first performance and the awards ceremony! A bit nerve wraking as they had only started 6 weeks prior, but they managed to pull of a great performance!

Fire Station Visit

Our juniors recently visited Winchester Fire Station as part of their Junior Cadet Syllabus. They all had a fantastic time and learnt an awful lot.

The Juniors were given the opportunity to try on some of the clothing worn by the firemen.

Maybe a little too big?

Rememberance 2006

PO Williams, Lt Dyer and the cadets in the guard for the 2006 Rememberance Parade. (please take note, the picture was taken whilst standing on a slope!)

Hay Bale

The Battle of Cheriton Hay bale rolling competition. The competition was between the Sea Cadets and the Young farmers.

Unsurprisingly the Young farmers won!

The competition was really good fun if not a little tiring!
