Fundraising
Unlike the other Cadet Forces, each local Sea Cadet Unit is an individually registered charity responsible for raising the money each year to cover the entire running costs of their own facilities (i.e. rent, heating, lighting, electricity, insurance, maintenance costs etc). For the average Unit, this comes to between £10,000 and £12,000 per annum, i.e. almost £1,000 every single month.

Shipping Festival 2007
A number of cadets attended the Shipping Festival at Winchester cathedral in the role of standard bearers alongside Southampton Sea Cadets, RNR, the Coast Guard RFA, and members and veterans of waterbourne services.
All that attended remembered all those who have given their lives on the sea whether protecting or providing for us. May they all rest in peace and be remembered.

Remberance Day 2006
Three cadets plus two staff attended the rememberence parade at Martyr Worthy this year. LC Froment lead the Armed Guard Made up of OC George and Cdt Thorpe. During the ceremony, the guard were posted around the cenataf. The last post and revallie were sounded on the bugle by PO Wiliams. May we remember an respect all those who have given their lives for us in conflict.

The Band's First Public Display
The Unit band put on a brilliant musical display at WorthyDown Camp's Annual Fireworks display on the 6th November! Due to power failures affecting the lighting, the band carried on playing in total darkness! Well done guys!

Battle of Cheriton
In August 2005, a selection of cadets from Winchester unit attended the Battle of Cheriton Re-inactment and assisted with car parking and organisation.
The cadets also ran a stall to guess the weight of our GP 14 dinghy.
We were joined by some Portsmouth and Hove cadets as well.
