Sea Cadets
The Sea Cadets is for the 12-18 year olds who start as a new entry for the first 6 weeks and go through basic training learning: Drill, Seamanship, Badges of Rank, Physical Training, Sea Cadet History and Water Safety. Before being issued uniform.
Basic training is just the start of it though, beyond this there are National Cadet courses, international exchanges anywhere in the world, offshore sailing voyages accross Europe and a whole host of other activities.
Sea Cadets can also achieve, RYA qualifications in boating, the DofE award, BTEC National Vocational Qualifications and many others. In fact the standards of the majority of cadet activities are set by outside organisations and recognised by future employers.

Junior Cadets
Junior Cadets are the units 10-12 year olds, they try all sorts of exciting things like Kayaking, Climbing, Absailing, Rafting, Drill, Shooting, Expedition day walks, the opportunities are endless!!
On top of all that Junior Cadets take part in day trips, weekend camps and even a weeks National Summer Camp! Junior Cadets wear there very own uniform and have there own rank structure.

Marine Cadets
Marine Cadets start at 13-18 years old, with females being introduced to the detachment in the near future..!! Train hard and play hard like a Royal Marine. All recruits undergo an intensive 8 week initial training program designed to test you to your full potential. A recruit will learn: Royal Marine History, Drill, Weapons Handling, Seamanship, Badges of Rank, Uniform cleaning, basic fieldcraft and much more.
As well as take advantage of all the Boating and other activities that being part of Waltham Forest Unit has to offer.
