About Tunbridge Wells Sea Cadets

TS BRILLIANT was formed in 1935 at the old Agricultural Showground in Showfields, before moving to our existing building in Albion Road.

The Unit has a very long and proud history, not only locally but also nationally, with key highlights being in 1998 when we were awarded the Canada Trophy for the best all round Sea Cadet Unit in the United Kingdom, 2007 when the Armed Drill Squad won the National Competition and 2008 when the Unit Band was crowned National Champions.

The Unit Band also frequently travels to Wiesbarden and Lambersart, the twin towns of Tunbridge Wells and Southborough in Germany and France respectfully.

TS BRILLIANT offers a fun and friendly environment to help you develop into a confident young adult with skills that assist you in later life, no matter which career path you choose.

Want to Help??

We are always looking for Adult Volunteers to help in any role within the unit, even if you want to come and instruct the cadets, with or without any military background and just a naval interest we will welcome you.

Please contact Sub Lieutenant (SCC) James Groves Royal Naval Reserve for more information.

Want to help but not teach??? well you are still welcome, as a charity the unit has the Management Committe dedicated to raising funds for the unit. If this interests you, please contact Derek Ireland, the Unit Chairman on the details below for more information

International Tour!!!!

February 2010 will see the unit band travel to the Tunbridge Wells twin town of Wiesbaden in Germany to take part in their carnival season.

Tunbridge Wells has been twinned with Wiesbaden for 50 years, and the unit has strong links going back to the 1980's of providing bands at these events.

The Band will be there from Thursday to the Tuesday, dates TBC and will be staying in the Police College.

The event will be at some cost to cadets, however, if you would like to sponsor a place for a cadet or make a donation towards the cost please email either Mr Derek Ireland or S/LT James Groves on ts.brilliant@hotmail.com
