Ashford on the map
For the last 4 years we have had a stall at 'Ashford on the Map', this year was no different. Laying in bed last night hearing the rain made me worried. When I got up in the morning it was dry but overcast. Luckily the weather stayed fine and actually became very warm. We sold the usual sweets and cakes and tried something new; 'Make your own bracelet'. We had a few people asking about Sea Cadets and also came out of the day with a profit. The next fund raising event is the Laleham Fair which is being held on Saturday 3rd July. Any help or contributions would be gratefully received for this event.

Poppy Appeal
After 2 weekends collecting in Staines and Egham to raise money for The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal the cadets took to the streets on Sunday 8th of November for Remembrance Sunday. The whole Unit was there looking extra smart. The cadets were by far the best marchers in the parade and did the unit proud by showing their respect to those who lost their lives while serving in the armed forces.
Each year the nation expresses support for The Royal British Legion's charity work through the Poppy Appeal. This year the Poppy Appeal is emphasising the need to help those members of the Armed Forces and their families who have served in Afghanistan – today and for the rest of their lives.
Please come and visit us and give generously to such a worthwhile cause.
