Unit Management Team
All Sea Cadet Units are individual Registered Charities set up to work with young people aged 12-18 (Juniors 10-12) by providing nautically based activities and training with a distinctly ‘naval’ feel.
As a Charity it is a requirement to have Trustees who oversee the business and management of the Unit, and in the Sea Cadets these responsibilities are carried out by the Unit Management Team. This means that the Unit Management Team is responsible for the day-to-day management of the charity, which is in essence like running a small business.
The Unit Management Team needs volunteers too, especially professional people with management expertise, or experience of fund-raising and charities. For more information go to: www.sccheadquarters.com/umc matters -
New Unit Management Team Members are always needed to help support the Unit, if interested please call - (0118) 9583101

Parents & Friends Association
The Unit also has a Parents and Friends Association, who's aims are to organise and support fundraising functions previously agreed with the UMC, assist with the day to day running of the Unit in such areas as canteen manning, social events, HQ maintenance etc and to take a practical interest in the Unit as a whole.
The P&FA is made up of parents and close relatives of Staff and Cadets past and present, those who provide regular financial and material support but who are not members of the UMC, and Professional advisers and skilled workers providing a service to the Unit who are not members of the UMC.
We always need new members of the Parents and Friends Association so if you would like to help our Unit in any way please call -
