Seniors

Learning to save lives

Senior Cadets can join from the age of 12 up to 18 year of age. Parade nights are every Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings from 1900 till 2130hrs and the cost is £1.50 per night or £10 if you would like to pay monthly. We also have the facility to pay by Standing Order.

The evening is filled with a range of activities such as drill training, specialist qualifications such as First Aid, Cook/Steward, Mechanical Engineering and Communicaitons and also including a swimming session once a month when possible.

In the summer, we spend most our time at Salterns Marina boating on parade nights gaining recognised RYA boating qualifications and sometimes go down the beach for a swim and beach games. Also during the summer months, weekends are spent boating and every other year we spend May Half Term with our cadet friends from Jersey Sea Cadet unit spending the week gaining many more boating qualifications.

In the winter months, we spend many weekends at the unit gaining qualifications i.e. Cook/Steward, First Aid, Seamanship etc.

Juniors

Juniors

Juniors meet on Tuesdays only from 7 till 9. Juniors are taken from the age of 10 to the age of 12 and as soon as they become 12 they will become a senior.

The evening is filled with fun activites ranging from drill, swimming and designing your own sea cadet uniform.
In the next few months, the juniors will be involved in a national sleepover and they will spend the weekend at the unit.
