TS Scott is based in the heart of Maidstone and is 1 of 400 Sea Cadet units in the UK. Our unit provides young people from 10-18 with life skills of teamwork, self-respect and social responsibility.
Activities
We offer opportunities with a training programme ranging from seamanship and boating skills to band music, cook/steward(cookery) and writer/stores(IT)
Activities include sailing, canoeing, boatwork, sport and new skills plus opportunities to make new friends and gain worthwhile qualifications.
Parade Nights
We parade twice a week on a Tuesday and Thursday evening between 19:00 - 21:30 hours.
In addition to the normal hours of attendance there is a wide variety of weekend events available to cadets, particularly in the summer months.
Who can join
Anyone can join the Sea Cadet Corps - cadets are required to have permission from an adult who is responsible for them (i.e. Parent/Guardian). Adults may also join as instructors.
Entry to the Sea Cadet Corps is at the following levels: Junior Sea Cadets: 10-12 years New Entries: 12-16 years Instructors: 18-50 years
We try to keep subscriptions as low as possible so the Sea Cadets is open to all young people. The current amount is £3.00 per week. This may be paid monthly in cash or by cheque.
