About TS Jersey
TS Jersey was formed in 1949 and has always been located at Fort Regent in St. Helier. In 1962 the Marine Cadet Detachment was formed. Originally the Unit was accommodated in some old barracks at the Fort but a new, purpose built headquarters was built in 1970 where we are still today. Plans, however are well in hand for a new unit to be built closer to the waterfront.
In 2008 the Unit became a RYA Recognised Training Centre and has 2 RIB,s, a Laser 3000, 4 bosun dinghies, 8 Pico,s, a Plymouth Pilot Dislacement Boat and 3 ASC rowing boats. We are also hoping to purchase 2 Laser radials.
Being an Island we conduct all our boating on the sea either from la Collette Marina in St. Helier or from St. Aubins Fort which is also an RYA Training Centre, situated approximately 200 yards off the shore at St. Aubins, which, at high tide is totally surrounded by the sea.
