Mission Statement

Sea Cadets aim to help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct, using a nautical theme based on the customs of the Royal Navy.

When we started

High Wycombe Sea Cadet Unit was launched in 1939 as part of the Navy League and has been operational without a break ever since. Today we are a registered charity in our own right and part of the Sea Cadet Corps under the umbrella of the Marine Society and Sea Cadet Association. We are not part of the Royal Navy but we do have a Memorandum of Understanding with them and are subject to a Royal Navy Unit Review (RNUR) every year. The unit is also know as TS Jaguar (Training Ship)

Cadets

Young people of either gender can join Cadets from the age of 12 and continue until they are 18 when they are encouraged to become members of Staff. Junior Cadets join at age 10 and become Cadets at 12.
