This was the first time in many years the TS NORFOLK Colour had been paraded, and it was an honour to have it on Parade

Basic ET Course
Cadets completed their basic ET course at Beccles Unit, well done everyone and thanks to TS Brave July 2007.

Well Done. The course was taken on the 27th September 2006 at TS Lord Nelson, Norwich Unit. The certificates were presented by PO (SCC) D Canon.

150th Anniversary of the Seamen's Mission
On the 4th July 2006 T.S. Norfolk was joined by Lowestoft Unit and T.S. Lord Nelson (Norwich) at St Nicholas Church in Great Yarmouth to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Seamen's Mission.

TS Norfolk Cadets visited HMS Atherstone at Great Yarmouth
The Present HMS Atherstone is the third to bear the name and was built at Southampton in 1986 and entered service in 1987. The first was a 810 ton paddle minesweeper built in 1916 which served in the Firth of Forth area until 1918 when she was moved to the Humber. She was paid off in August 1924.
The second HMS Atherstone was the first Type 1 'Hunt' Class Destroyer of 1000 tons displacement to be build. Laid down in April 1939 by Cammell Laird & Co. Ltd launched on 12 December 1939 and completed on 23 rd March 1940.
She joined the Orkneys and Shetland Command in Scapa Flow at the end of April 1940 and escorted convoys between the Orkneys and the Clyde. In mid August the Amerston was ordered to join the first Destroyer Flotilla at Portsmouth and on 11th September 1940 while off Ramsgate with a convoy, whe was bombed and severely damaged.
Repaired at Chatham, the Atherstone returned to coastal convoy escort duties in January 1941. She had varied duties and then a refit in Jan 1943 then she was allocated to the Mediterranean Fleet where she remained until the end of the war.

Christmas Evening of Traditional Carols
On the 6th December 2006 Junior Cadets joined the Town Centre Partnership and Mission to Seafarers in a Family Entertainment of Tradtional Carols. They were with the Stalham Brass Band, Alderman Swindell First School, Great Yarmouth Guides and Brownies and Peterhouse Middle School in Great Yarmouth Market Square.
