The 'Royal' Royal Marines Band on Top Form
On Saturday 13th March 2009, the Royal Marines Band of Portsmouth together with the Corps of Drums played a wide range of music with some superb solo displays on the Xylophone, Flugel Horn, Saxophone and Flute. Under the direction of Captain Richard Long and Bandmaster WO1 Martin Grace, a wide range of music was played, from Star Trek 'Generations' through Big Band Classics to Patriotic Britannia Salute, 'Heart of Oak' and 'A Life on the Ocean Wave'. All fantastic. Tributes were paid to our special guests from 36 Engineer Regiment based in Maidstone, our outgoing President Colonel Paul Cautley and our new President Colonel ACL Smith.
