T.S. Ardent Parents and Friends Group
The T.S Ardent Parents and Friends Fund Raising Group supports the work of T.S Ardent by raising funds for activities, equipment, and mundane items like electricity, insurance and maintenance of the Unit. This is done via fund raising where we have some not so serious fun
All parents are automatically members of this informal group which meets the last Thursday in every month (the same night as the COs inspection) in the Cock & Pheasant Pub. Any relatives or friends are also welcome.
Some previous activities we have done are fancy dress pub crawls, quiz nights, jumble sales, quiz sheets, bag packs, Christmas fayres, Cheese and Wine evenings and our biggest is now the Annual Duck Race. We are always looking for new activities and ideas so do not hesitate to contact us.

Hurrah we are back on line
After 7 weeks BT has finally come through, we have phones and internet in our new abode.
January saw us in negotiation for new premises; we started discussions with the governors of St John’s Church of England primary school. The outcome of which was we could lease one of the classrooms for our sole use and have use of the rest of the school on parade nights.
This is the classroom prior to our conversion
Our chairman getting down and dirty to help the conversion, painting the ships office into something more suitable.
In the Ships Office we had division walls put up and on scrounging we managed to acquire all office furniture to give us luxury beyond our wildest dreams.
Now the CO has been allowed out of his cupboard in the old unit to be given light and space to work!
The Ward room has windows! And a proper coffee table!
It even has its own galley, scrounged of course (fantastic this freecycle!).
We now have space for Cadets to do all activities with some to spare.
Even if some chairs are small for larger staff.
There is space for paper exercises and small group activities and rattle around on the main deck. Stand easy has also become much more fun!
